NewsPete Doherty facing prison tomorrow?Pete Doherty is finally set to learn his fate tomorrow (September 4) after pleading guilty to drug charges in the summer. The Babyshambles frontman has had a turbulent few months which has already seen him make several appearances at West London Magistrate's Court, where judges will decide his future tomorrow. Firstly, the singer pleaded guilty to possessing Class A drugs after being stopped by police in Kensington High Street back on May 5. Having admitted the charges, on that occasion (August 7) the judge decided to postpone his sentencing for a month. Doherty was told he would be given a community or prison sentence, which would depend on his behaviour over August, and he was advised he would be sentenced on September 4. Unfortunately for Doherty he was forced to make an unexpected return to the Hammersmith court on August 27. Following Babyshambles' set at V Festival in Chelmsford, the singer was arrested again and police brought the singer to West London Magistrates Court, charging him with breaking his bail conditions. However Doherty was lucky as the officers failed to delivery him to the magistrates within 24 hours of his arrest he was freed on a technicality. A seperate drugs arrest arising from that occasion will not be dealt with until October 31, when Doherty must reappear at Bethnal Green police station. So tomorrow he finally learns his fate for his arrest in May - prison or the community service. NME.COM will be bringing you full coverage live from court so make sure you tune in tomorrow for the latest news. In the meantime have your say on whether Doherty will face prison or not using the My NME comments below. Lindsay Lohan broke Lindsay Lohan is reportedly broke after spending her $7 million fortune on drugs and alcohol. The troubled Hollywood star - who left Utah's Cirque Lodge rehab clinic earlier this month after a two-month stay - is staying with movie producer Tom Gores in Los Angeles because her money has run out. Gores was the executive producer of the 21-year-old actress' recent flop film 'I Know Who Killed Me'. A source told Britain's News of the World newspaper: "Lindsay doesn't have much choice as she is totally broke. The only reason she's coming back to Los Angeles is to try and get some film work and earn some money fast. "The amount she has wasted putting cocaine up her nose is disgusting. Even she has lost count." Lindsay's extravagant spending spree reportedly includes $1 million on just one hotel bill. She has also spent more than $137,000 on three separate stints in rehab battling her drug and alcohol addictions, and thousands more in legal fees after her conviction for DUI (driving under the influence). Lindsay is also thought to have blown more than $1 million on clothes and $500,000 on partying, with another $70,000 spent in tanning and hair salons. She has been forced her to sell her $2.85 million apartment in Los Angeles and her $1 million New York property because she couldn't afford the mortgage payments. Last week, Lindsay's father Michael claimed she planned to stay away from Hollywood to avoid temptation. He said: "She told me, 'Dad, I don't feel ready to go back to Hollywood.' "That's how committed Lindsay is to her sobriety. She doesn't want to do anything to mess it up." |
